MEET OUR MINISTER
GOD IS ABLE!!!
This is the mantra under which Bro. Anthony Campbell serves and encourages the saints and community of the 15th Street Church of Christ in Pompano Beach, Florida. Since being called by the gospel in May 1985, Anthony Campbell’s life is a testimony to the power of God and how, with God, all things are possible. Born in 1968 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Anthony is the youngest of 10 children born to Benston & Barbara Campbell. Upon graduating from high school in 1985, Anthony went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he received his degree in Architecture. While attending Howard, Anthony worked under the leadership of Edward Maxwell Sr., the minister of the Suitland Road Church of Christ in Suitland, Maryland. There, he received his training as a Bible School teacher and served as the church’s Campus Minister for three years. During that time, Anthony established the Church of Christ Students Association at Howard University in 1991.
After graduating from Howard in 1992, Anthony returned to South Florida and worked as an Architectural Designer for 5 years. At the same time, he continued his service to the Lord by working with Evangelist Mathew Moore Sr. at the 15th Street Church of Christ. He served as the church’s Youth Minister for 8 years and, eventually, began working as the Assistant Minister where his responsibilities included teaching, preaching and various administrative tasks. In 1998, after much thought and prayer, Anthony left the architectural profession to pursue his passion for teaching and encouraging youth. He became a teacher at the high school where he graduated. As a teacher for 12 years, Anthony received a number of accolades for his work in and outside of the classroom including being selected as “Teacher of the Year” for his school in 2002. He also serves as a mentor and father-figure to a number of former and present students especially the young men who are a part of the organization he founded in 2000 cal led the Adimu Men of Excellence Club.
In 2002, after the retirement of Mathew Moore Sr., Anthony was asked to take on the awesome responsibility of Minister of the 15th Street Church of Christ. In March 2003, God blessed Anthony to step into the pulpit as their Minister. Since that time, God has blessed the 15th Street Church of Christ to grow in many ways including spiritually and numerically. Anthony and the members of the 15th Street church of Christ, just like Jesus, have a passion for people. The congregation has adopted the motto “A New people with a new vision and a new attitude.” Truly, GOD IS ABLE!
