Think, Talk, Live…like a Champion

“greater is he that is within us than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4

Who do you think you are?

Whatever your response is to that question says a lot about where, who or what your confidence is in. In last Sunday’s morning message entitled “The Winner in You”, I challenged each of us to do three things in order to unleash the champion that God has placed within each of us – Think like a champion, Talk like a champion and Live like a champion.

Many of us really don’t realize the power and potential that lies within us but once you recognize and release those 2 P’s, your life will never be the same. We are often our biggest hindrance or help in becoming the person that God created us to be. Through faulty and negative thinking, we live in a defeated disadvantaged state and there is no way a person can win with that type of mentality. Therefore, I ask “have you begun or will you begin to see yourself as God sees you?” Have you made or will you make the choice to be a champion?

Those of us who have chosen God and have been chosen by God have also chosen power. Acts 1:8, Jesus told his disciples “you will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you”. God has given his children, through the Spirit, the power to BE what he has called us to be and do what he has called us to do. He has given his children the power over sin, worry and defeat. If you are ever overcome by these things, it will be because you chose not to use your (His) power. Yes, if you are overcome, it will be because you chose to be overcome. Read what Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7 if you don’t believe God has given the believer power.

The power that God places within us ignites and becomes our potential. You have the potential to be excellent and experience excellence in your life. However, potential goes to waste if it is not used. Its like sitting in darkness when all you have to do is turn on the light. So, I encourage you to turn on your potential. Unleash your potential by challenging yourself to be the person that God says you are. Strive to be ALL and the best that you can be spiritually, mentally, physically, financially and morally. The potential is within you but you must recognize it, release and channel it in the right direction – to God’s glory.
