Let’s GO! by: Anthony B. Campbell "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection…" Hebrews 6:1 OK! OK! Enough is enough!Child of God, how many sermons do you have to hear before you realize that God is really serious about this Christianity stuff? When is it finally going to click that God does actually keep his promises to those who trust in him? How many times does God have to prove himself before you actually believe He is real? When are you going to GO, launch out into the deep and get serious about your walk with the Lord? The writer of the book of Hebrews had to remind the Christians of his day of a very important fact – God does not want you to become stagnant. There is so much more to being a child of God than just coming to church on Sunday. Jesus said, "I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly." Not only is he talking about eternal life but an abounding fruitful life in the present. Many of us are just at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to really living the abundant life that Christ promised. Why? Many of us are stuck, either through complacency, disobedience and/or spiritual malnutrition. We have a "blah" study life which leads to a "blah" faith and a "blah" Christian who produces a "blah" worship. And the sad thing about it is many of us are happy with that. We need to take out the "blah" and replace it with "BRILLIANT". Jesus said you (not them) ARE the LIGHT of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. When we think of "light", we think of something that glows, is radiant or brilliant. A light lights up whatever space it inhabits. That’s you, child of God. Or, at least, it’s supposed to be you. Are you stuck? Has your spiritual life reached a plateau or a point of stagnation? Are you ready to move on? God says, "OK, let’s go!" Let’s change the "blah" to "brilliant". If you want to grow, if you want to move out of stagnation and on to perfection, you need to, first, make up your mind. Moving on to perfection will require some effort on your part. However, God takes care of the most of the work. Nevertheless, you need to make a choice. "Choose you this day who you will serve…" TO BE CONTINUED… PS Can you find the scriptures that I referred to in this article
