- Question: Who is the Church of Christ?
Answer: The Church of Christ is part of no denomination. We are simply a congregation of believers worshipping and serving Christ Jesus as Lord. The scriptures alone are our rule of faith and practice. Our desire is to be a New Testament church and to restore the doctrines, ordinances and spiritual life according to God's Holy Word.
Answer: Our plea is for Christian unity and the purpose is for the evangelization of the world. Jesus prayed, "that they may all be one, Father, just as you are in me and I in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me." John 17:21
Answer: In that the Church is Christ's, we wear His Name - The Church of Christ.
Answer: Christ is the Head of the body, the Church, and He is our creed - a changeless creed. Hebrew 13:8. All scripture is inspired by God and, therefore, is our authority and guide in all matters.
Answer: We believe the Lord Jesus will come again. "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life" (Rev. 2:10) is the promise of Jesus.
- Question: New Testament Ordinances?
Answer: We practice the baptism of the New Testament, which is immersion in water of a repentant believer, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (Romans 6:4; Acts 2:38).
Answer: We observe the Lord's Supper each Lord's Day as was the practice in New Testament times: "Upon the first day of the week when we gathered together to break bread..." (Acts 20:7).
- Question: New Testament Lifestyle?
Answer: We teach that every Christian should heed Christ's teaching and example. We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and manifest the fruit of the Spirit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-25). We teach that every Christian is a steward of his time, talents, and resources (II Corinthians 8 & 9).
- Question: Leadership in the Church?
Answer: The elders are congregationally appointed leaders who guide the church by their example, teaching, oversight, and encouragement (I Peter 5:1-4; I Timothy 3:1-7).
